We joined with a broad coalition of over 110 charities, royal colleges, professional bodies, professional associations, trade unions, parents and carers and others have publicly written to the ministers in charge of the SEND Review to ask them to invest in the specialist workforce for children and young people. World Orthoptic Day 2022 World Orthoptic Day was, as always, a fantastic celebration of the orthoptic profession around the world. The SIHED team have released a series of online CPD training courses focusing on outreach work with young people and career changers, available for free on the HEE E-Learning for Healthcare platform. In 2020, the number of applications to study Allied Health Professions increased for the first time in several years, with a 17.5% jump in UCAS applications to begin AHP degree courses this year. BIOS broadly welcomes the publication of the Government's new White Paper on reforming the health and social care system in England, "Integration and Innovation: working together to improve health and social care for all". The document sets out how the Government legislative plans, to be made through the Health and Care Bill, and it undoes many of the changes introduced through the Coalition Government's Health and Social Care Act 2012.
