Clinical tutors forum: Tutor self-care – Friday 4th April 2025 online
Online forum for Orthoptic Clinical Tutors. The aim of this session is to provide an opportunity to discuss topics relevant to the provision of clinical placements for undergraduate and postgraduate orthoptic students. We will have a special guest speaker at this forum who will talk to us about promoting self-care and good work/life balance. Agenda: 12:30-12:35 Introduction: Michael Harmsworth 12:35-12:45 Talk on Tutor self-care 12:45-13:25 Open discussion amongst clinical tutors with opportunity to ask questions. 13:25-13:30 Suggestions for topics of next forum & Close meeting.

New Graduate Drop-in & Networking (online) – Wednesday 23rd April 2025, 6:30pm-7:30pm
An informal drop-in session for new graduates within their first two years of qualifying. We are all spread out across the country at different Trusts, but will have lots of shared experiences, similarities and differences in our Orthoptic roles and this is a chance for us to meet and grow our support network. New Graduate CPD: Peer Teaching Session (online) – Wednesday 14th May 2025, 6:30pm-7:15pm
A session for new graduates to get involved and gain experience in presenting a case in a supportive environment of your peers, as well as coming along to listen, ask questions and share practice. It will be quick, bite-size evening session with 5-10 minute presentations and time for questions and discussion after.
