We’re currently looking for two leads and steering group members to run a new Clinical Advisory Group (CAG) to lead on Advanced Clinical Practice (ACP).
We now have a number of Orthoptists working in recognised roles a Advanced (Clinical) Practitioners (APs / ACPs), with several trainees undertaking Masters level education as tAPs/tACPs, well on their way to recognition. Charlotte Codina, as ACP lead for BIOS, has set up a forum for trainees and advanced practitioners for Orthoptics and Ophthalmology which meets online quarterly.
We are now looking to develop this forum further into a BIOS CAG in advanced practice. As such we are looking for two leads and a steering group made up of people actively involved as either trainees or recognised advanced practitioners.
This would work similarly to other CAGs who support members with this speciality, by raising common challenges collectively, organising study days, sessions and meetings and by representing BIOS at wider meetings where appropriate and relevant.
If you’d like to know more, please contact Charlotte Codina ([email protected]) for an informal chat.
Applications can be made via the form here.
