An exciting opportunity has arisen for new enthusiastic members to join our Falls CAG Steering Group.

This is a great opportunity for those who wish to help promote the importance of vision in falls patients and champion the role of orthoptists in multi-disciplinary falls teams. The CAG aims to hold steering committee meetings once or twice per year in order to develop, share and disseminate best practice. Meetings will also involve discussing CPD opportunities and how to support orthoptists to collaborate with the Falls MDT. Members are not required to be part of/ currently working within a Falls MDT within their Trusts.

The Steering Committee Role Expectations:

  • Active contribution to CAG activity and workflow as directed by the CAG leads
  • Attendance at committee meetings
  • All steering group members are encouraged to contribute to meetings even if they are not funded, by teleconference or Skype etc. At the first meeting, the groups should identify the objectives and mission statement of the CAG in the form of a strategy.
  • Committee members may be assigned a specific area of responsibility within the CAG where appropriate, for example, Public Health  or Social Media
  • Committee members should serve a term of three years with permitted extension to a second term or 3 years only (in line with other BIOS bodies). Once a term of office is nearing completion, or if the CAG Lead or steering group member should decide to step down earlier than expected, nominations should be sought for the position and, if necessary, a vote carried out, through the CAG membership.

If you are interested in joining the team, please send an ‘Expression of Interest / CV’ to the email below by 15 July 2024.
