Orthoptist Insight Day: An Introduction to Orthoptics as a career – 22nd January 2025 (online)

Working as an Orthoptist is a wonderfully diverse, varied, and secure career. If you enjoy science, working with people of all ages and relish the challenge of problem-solving and making decisions independently, orthoptics could be the career for you!

At this insight day, you will learn who Orthoptists are, what they do, and the different routes you can take to become an Orthoptist.

Orthoptists and Orthoptic students will share their real-life experiences of transitioning from the armed forces and other careers into the orthoptics workforce and there will be an opportunity for you to learn which universities run orthoptic degree programmes and apprenticeships,  find out further information on the university, and how you can access these programmes. Graduation from any of these programmes will provide you with a qualification enabling you to practice as an orthoptist.
