This series of HEE funded projects are driving forward our education and professional practice workforce agenda, supporting our work across the UK and Ireland. We’ve teamed up with our colleagues from the British Dietetic Association (BDA) to deliver these ambitious and exciting projects over the next 12-18 months.
The Fund provides small grants to orthoptic professionals and students to support with education and training. We welcome applications from BIOS members who are able to demonstrate how the funds will be used to support our charitable aim, ‘to encourage the study and improve the practice of orthoptics with a view to maintaining and raising standards in clinical and scientific orthoptics’.
The online portal is a bespoke portal of resources, allowing students to gain confidence and expertise in clinical decision making despite clinical placement limitations. Although is of particular benefit due to the impact of COVID-19 on placements, it will be an invaluable resource for many years to come, and it will contribute to expanding and supporting the profession.
