Making an application

Both the University of Liverpool and University of Sheffield offer 40 United Kingdom / European Union places each year (dependent on NHS funding). Approximately 600 applicants compete for those places.

We strongly advise prospective students to visit a local orthoptic department before applying. Work experience itself is not required, but with stiff competition it is essential to show commitment and understanding of the profession.
